Our Philanthropy
When hundreds of participants arrive this fall, they join a community actively wrestling with the most important issues of our day, from the hyperlocal to the global. Each year, we unite with MICSUN, our high school parallel conference, to back a charitable cause with a major donation and use our platform to drive awareness around social justice challenges that demand attention.

About Li'l Abner Foundation
Founded in 2009 by Raul and Paola Rodriguez, the Li'l Abner Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of K-12 children in Miami. With locations in Sweetwater and Palmetto Bay, the organization provides a wide range of educational and recreational programs to local youth.
Educational Programs
The foundation offers tutoring in both English and Spanish to support students academically. Beginning in sixth grade, students can receive scholarships to attend Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, and after graduation, they're eligible for scholarships to Florida International University, opening pathways to higher education.
Recreational Activities
Every student has access to dance, taekwondo, and archery classes that build self-discipline, emotional intelligence, and confidence. These programs run weekly and are complemented by seasonal celebrations throughout the year.
Disney on Wheels Initiative
Each March, Li'l Abner hosts "Disney on Wheels," a special program that takes medically fragile children and their caretakers from Miami-Dade to Magic Kingdom, often for their first visit. Through donor support, the foundation provides medical equipment and staff, meals, accessible accommodations, and specialized transportation.
Thanksgiving Bash
This November, the foundation will host its annual "Thanksgiving Bash," serving over 3,000 meals and distributing hundreds of Christmas presents to children in Sweetwater and the surrounding communities.
Our Partnership
305MUNIII is proud to partner with Li'l Abner Foundation, an organization whose values align with the United Nations' mission to educate the next generation. UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 aims to "ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all", a principle the University of Miami Model United Nations embraces in one of America's most diverse cities.
