About The Ad-Hoc of the Secretary General
Welcome to the 305MUN IV Ad-Hoc of the Secretary General! The topic of this committee, in typical Ad-Hoc fashion, will remain a secret until the beginning of the first session of the conference. The Ad-Hoc seeks to provide an innovative and unique challenge for delegates that requires quick thinking and creative problem-solving.
Although the topic will be secret until the start of committee session, the Dias will be sharing a series of hints leading up to 305MUN. The hints are not meant to be relied on, nor will they be very easy to solve, because that would ruin the surprise!
This is an advanced committee; it is highly recommended that delegates competing in this committee have experience in crisis style committee on the collegiate circuit before this conference.
Crisis Director
Diego Balda
Diego Balda (he/him) is a fourth-year from Caracas, Venezuela, majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Miami on the pre-medical track. With nine years of Model United Nations experience, Diego has both competed extensively and directed notable committees, including “When Walls Don’t Work: The Fall of Constantinople, 1453” at MICSUN XII; 305MUN I’s “(Drug) Lord, Have Mercy: United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime”; “From Russia, With Love: Russian Presidential Cabinet, 2050” at 305MUN II; “Not Today, Satan: World of Wonder Board of Directors, 2030” at 305MUN III; and “JCC Making a Banana Split: The Banana Wars, 1920” at MICSUN XIII. Diego also served as the Head Delegate of the University of Miami Model of United Nations Team (2025-2026), so if you’ve seen him around, don’t be shy!
When not engaged in MUN activities, Diego works as a research assistant in UM's College of Engineering, participates in various College of Engineering and medical organizations, and maintains a healthy habit of binge-watching reality TV shows. His leisure pursuits include discovering local dining spots, taking impromptu beach trips, and enthusiastically pursuing his cinephilic tendencies at a cinema near YOU!
