305MUN Visa Requirements

If your delegation plans to attend 305MUN 2018 held in Miami, Florida and requires a visa for travel to the United States, all delegates must apply for a visa with the U.S. embassy (consular division) or a U.S. consulate with adequate time for processing. It is the delegate or delegation's responsbiility to investigate the visa requirements for the United States and apply for a visa, if necessary. Advance travel planning and early visa application are extremely important. It is recommended that formal applications be submitted at least 120 days prior to the conference. As such, special registration deadlines apply for delegations requiring travel visas. 305MUN will not sponsor travel visas for delegations that have not completed their registration and payment of their delegation fee.

Letter of Invitation

305MUN will provide an official letter of invitation to the conference upon the request of registered delegations that require visas to travel to the United States. This letter, along with a copy of event materials (e.g. event announcement or program) should be presented along with the required documentation to the United States consular officials as part of the formal application for a visa.

To receive Letter(s) of Invitation for your delegates, your delegation must first register for the conference, pay in full, and submit any required supporting documents (such as signed conference policies).

The Letter of Invitation does not financially obligate 305MUN organizers in any way. All the expenses incurred inr elation to the conference and visa application are the sole responsibility of the delegate/delegation. The Letter of Invitation does not guarantee an entry visa to the United States. 305MUN will not directly contact embassies and consulates on behalf of delegates.

The deadline for requesting a Letter of Invitation is September 1st, 2018. However, 305MUN recommends submitting visa applications prior to July 1st, 2018, and delegations must do so to eligible for refunds on account of visa rejection. The registration fees minus a handling fee of $20 USD will be refunded after the conference if the visa was applied for prior to July 1st, 2018 and proof is shown that a visa could not be granted even though all requested documents were submitted. Refund requests must be made in writing and sent together with the required proof to 305mun@gmail.com no later than October 14th, 2018. Refund requests received after that date will not be accepted.
